24 Qualities That Geniuses Have in Common

The worlds greatest geniuses have all had 24 personality characteristics in common and you can develop the same traits yourself, says an expert.
?Most people have the mistaken idea that geniuses are born, not made?, declared clinical psychologist Dr. Alfred Barrious, founder and director of the Self-Programmed Control Center of Los Angeles and author of the book, Towards Greater Freedom and Happiness.
?But if you look at the lives of the worlds greatest geniuses like Edison, Socrates, DaVinci, Shakespeare, Einstein, you will discover they all had 24 personality characteristics in common.
?These are traits that anyone can develop. It makes no difference how old you are, how much education you have, or what you have accomplished to date. Adopting these personality characteristics enables you to operate on a genius level.?
Here are the Characteristics Dr. Barrios lists, which enable geniuses to come up with and develop new and fruitful ideas:

1. DRIVE. Geniuses have a strong desire to work hard and long. They?re willing to give all they?ve got to a project. Develop your drive by focusing on your future success, and keep going.
2. COURAGE. It takes courage to do things others consider impossible. Stop worrying about what people will think if you?re different.
3. DEVOTION TO GOALS. Geniuses know what they want and go after it. Get control of your life and schedule. Have something specific to accomplish each day.
4. KNOWLEDGE. Geniuses continually accumulate information. Never go to sleep at night without having learned at least one new thing each day. Read. And question people who know.
5. HONESTY. Geniuses are frank, forthright and honest. Take the responsibility for thins that go wrong. Be willing to admit, ?I goofed? and learned from my mistakes.
6. OPTIMISM. Geniuses never doubt they will succeed. Deliberately focus your mind on something good coming up.
7. ABILITY TO JUDGE. Try to understand the facts of a situation before you judge. Evaluate things on an opened minded, unprejudiced basis and be willing to change your mind.
8. ENTHUSIASM. Geniuses are so excited about what they are doing, it encourages others to cooperate with them. Really believe that things will out well. Don?t hold back.
9. WILLINGNESS TO TAKE CHANcES. Overcome your fear of failure. You won?t be afraid to take chances once you realize you can learn from your mistakes.
10. DYNAMIC ENERGY. Don?t sit on your butt waiting for something good to happen. Be determined to make it happen.
11. ENTERPRISE. Geniuses are opportunity seekers. Be willing to take on jobs others won?t touch. Never be afraid to try the unknown.
12. PERSUASION. Geniuses know how to motivate people to help them get ahead. You?ll find it easy to be persuasive if you believe in what you?re doing.
13. OUTGOINGNESS. I?ve found geniuses able to make friends easily and be easy on their friends. Be a ?booster? not somebody who puts others down. That attitude will win you many valuable friends.
14. ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE. Geniuses are generally able to get their ideas across to others. Take every opportunity to explain your ideas to others.
15. PATIENCE. Be patient with others most of the time, but always be impatient with your self. Expect far more of yourself than others.
16. PERCEPTION. Geniuses have their mental radar working full time. Think more of others? needs and wants than you do your own.
17. PERFECTIONISM. Geniuses cannot tolerate mediocrity, particularly in themselves. Never be easily satisfied with your self. Always strive to do better.
18. SENSE OF HUMOR. Be willing to laugh at your own expense. Don?t take offense when the joke is on you.
19. VERSATILITY. The more things you learn to accomplish, the more confidence you will develop. Don?t shy away from new endeavors.
20. ADAPTABILITY. Being flexible enables you to adapt to changing circumstances readily. Resist doing things the same old way. Be willing to consider new options.
21. CURIOSITY. An inquisitive, curious mind will help you seek out new information. Don?t be afraid to admit you don?t know it all. Always ask questions about things you don?t understand.
22. INDIVIDUALISM. Do things the way you think they should be done, without fearing somebody?s disapproval.
23. IDEALISM. Keep your feet on the ground ? but have your head in the clouds. Strive to achieve great things, not just for yourself but for the better of mankind.
24. IMAGINATION. Geniuses know how to think in new combinations, see things from a different perspective, than anyone else. Unclutter your mental environment to develop this type of imagination. Give yourself time each day to daydream, to fantasize, to drift into a dreamy inner life the way you did as a child.

Nice compilation again. You are grown and responsible gentleman/woman when :
1. Your houseplants are alive, and you can't smoke any of them.

14. You feed your dog Science Diet instead of McDonald's leftovers.
15. Sleeping on the couch makes your back hurt.

20. A $4.00 bottle of wine is no longer "pretty good shit".
21. You actually eat breakfast food at breakfast time.

23. 90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for real work.
24. You drink at home to save money before going to a bar.
25. When you find out your friend is pregnant you congratulate them instead of asking, "Oh shit, what the hell happened?"

Bill Gates : Financial Facts

Found a nice compilation of facts about Bill Gates wealth. I hope you will enjoy it.

1. Bill Gates earns US$250 every SECOND, that's about US$20 Million a DAY and US$7.8 Billion a YEAR!
________________________________________________________

2. If he drops a thousand dollar, he won't even bother to pick it up bcoz the 4 seconds he picks it, he would've already earned it back.

_______________________________________________________

3. The US national debt is about 5.62 trillion, if Bill Gates were to pay the debt by himself; he will finish it in less then 10 years.

_________________________________________________

4. He can donate US$15 to everyone on earth but still be left with US$5 Million for his pocket money.

___________________________________________________

5. Michael Jordan is the highest paid athlete in US.
If he doesn't drink and eat, and keeps up his annual income i.e. US$30 Million, he'll have to wait for 277 years to become as rich as Bill Gates is now.

_______________________________________________

6. If Bill Gates was a country, he would be the 37th richest country on earth.

______________________________________________

7. If you change all of Bill Gate's money to US$1 notes, you can make a road from earth to moon, 14 times back and forth. But you have to make that road non-stop for 1,400 years, and use a total of 713 BOEING 747 planes to transport all the money.

______________________________________________________

8. Bill Gates is 40 this year. If we assume that he will live for another 35 years, he has to spend US$6.78 Million per day to finish all his money before he can go to heaven.

______________________________________________________

Last but not the least:
If Microsoft Windows' users can claim US$1 for every time their computers hang because of Microsoft Windows, Bill Gates will be bankrupt in 3 years!!!!!!

Urine powered battery

In 2005, Singapore scientist King Bang Lee and colleagues at the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology created the credit card-size battery as a disposable power source for medical test kits powered by urine..
To make the battery, Lee and his colleagues soaked a piece of paper in a solution of copper chloride and sandwiched it between strips of magnesium and copper. This sandwich was then laminated between two sheets of transparent plastic.
When a drop of urine is added to the paper through a slit in the plastic, a chemical reaction takes place that produces electricity, Lee said.
The prototype battery produced about 1.5 volts, the same as a standard AA battery, and runs for about 90 minutes. Researchers said the power, voltage, and lifetime of the battery can be improved by adjusting the geometry and materials used.

Toilet Paper Manga

Well, this is unusual.
Don't share your toilet paper roll or you can't read the whole story. You mightnot be able to read the manga comic whole if you live with family and share the bathroom.
You might have to keep going to the bathroom to find out what happens next in this Manga comic.

Do you [can you] want these thongs ?

Do you (means: can you) want these thongs ?

French luxury goods makers Louis Vuitton made this sandals. These thong sandals are supposed to be very comfortable. They?re made of ultra-soft black calf leather and have a padded insole. Since you can?t wear them with socks, I suppose they?re mostly used on beaches.
So, why didn?t the designers at Louis Vuitton think of putting their logo in mirror image on the soles, just like the sandals that were given away by the French UMP political party last summer? Then, with every step you make in the sand, you could show off that you?re rich enough to buy sandals that nobody else can afford.
In the USA these thongs cost $420 per pair.

The last king of France: Found in India

Balthazar Napoleon de Bourbon, an Indian lawyer, is being feted as the long-lost descendent of the Bourbon kings who ruled France from the 16th century to the French revolution. He is alleged to be not only related to the current Bourbon king of Spain and the Bourbon descendants still in France, but to have more claim than any of them to the French crown.
Prince Michael of Greece, the cousin of (British) Prince Philip, this week published a historical novel called Le Rajah de Bourbon, which traces the story of Mr Bourbon?s first royal ancestor in India. Prince Michael believes Jean de Bourbon was a nephew of the first Bourbon French king, Henry IV. In 1560, during a voyage across the world, he turned up at the court of the Mogul emperor Akbar. It was the beginning of a long line of Bourbons in India, who centuries later would serve as the administrators of Bhopal and become the second most important family in the region.
Michael of Greece, who lives in Paris and is of Bourbon descent, believes his detective work on his newfound Indian ?cousins? is more than just the latest whimsy in a history of attempts to uncover relatives of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.
?If I am right then Balthazar Bourbon would be the eldest in the line,? he told the Guardian.
From his home in the Bhopal suburbs, Mr Bourbon, 48, said he would be glad to take a DNA test, but remained stoical about the ?hypothetical question? of whether he was heir to the throne. Conscious of the bloody outcome for royals in France, he felt royal status could bring ?trouble?, not to mention questions from skeptical historians.

Gold Plated Ear-phone Necklace

Jewelry should be something everyone wants, it used to be that everyone wanted diamonds--now everyone wants MP3 players. Anna Tascha Larsson a jewelry designer still in school in Stockholm heard the many reports of students in NYC getting mugged and stabbed to death because they wore the coveted white ipod ear-buds (a tell-tale sign that they held ipods) and decided to do something. She created a necklace, in gold and silver, that looks exactly like ipod ear-buds. Everyone wants this necklace because it's such a brilliant idea. Rumor has it that you'll be able to buy the H&M rip-off real soon.
Now people can go back to getting mugged for their jewelry and hand-bags.

Kitchen Computer ...

Kitchen Computer

Hello! It is 1969, and my wonderful husband has bought me a Honeywell Kitchen Computer to help me with my cooking! It is a $10,000+ status symbol from the Nieman Marcus catalog. It will replace my unwieldy and difficult to use recipe box. How I love my Kitchen Computer! And my husband!
The Kitchen Computer is both stylish and functional. See its sleek lines, bright red accents, and handy built-in counter top? It matches my dress! And my lipstick!
... ... What a piece of junk! What idiot thought this was a good idea? I hate my Kitchen Computer! I hate my husband! I'm going to divorce him and go get a job designing computers that don't suck!
An article about kitchen computer in Dr. Dobb's Jornal.
You can see it in person at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, currently housed next to the first production Google rack (in the background of the photos to the left of the Kitchen Computer).

Won Guinness Record and Learnt it after 8 yrs

This guy won Guinness World Records in 2005 and didn't know about it till now. He is the only Nepali sportsperson to feature in the Guinness Book of World Records, for clocking the fastest run at the highest altitude, but he learnt about it only eight years after setting the record (source: kantipur daily). Spectacular views compensate for the dangers of high altitude running. Source His record was Published in 2005, the Golden Jubilee year of Guinness Book of World Records. It states the Jumla-based marathoner set a world record timing of 3hr. 16min. 3sec. in the Everest Marathon in 1999. The race began from Gorak Shep at an altitude of 17,100 ft and concluded at Namche Bazar at 11,300 ft. These are the only pictures I could find of him. I hope to find and update better quality pictures later. A News quote about Hari. Hari Bahadur Rokaya’s practice schedule is as tough as his home terrain in Jumla. Like most marathon runners he prefers setting off in the early morning, past the bazar, along the trail down to the Bheri, over the suspension bridge, past paddy terraces glistening in the sun, along the edge of the pine-scented forest. After two hours, this world class athlete is back home in time for a snack of instant noodles. His training may be ‘low tech’, his shoes frayed, but Hari more than makes up for it with his determination and patriotism. The up-and-down and the thin air at 3,300m is good training. The 41-year-old sets himself a grueling pace: he has reached Rara Lake from Jumla in seven hours, a distance that takes trekkers two days. From: Nepali Times Issue #153 (11 July 03 - 17 July 03)

Miracle Baby .. He is alive once again !!

After trying for 30 minutes to bring two-week-old Woody Lander back to life, doctors decided there was nothing more they could do and called in his parents to say their tearful farewells. A nurse passed Woody to his heartbroken father and gently pulled a tube from his mouth so they could kiss him goodbye.
Then the miracle happened. The lifeless baby suddenly coughed and moved. Nurses immediately grabbed Woody back, re-attached the tubes and lifesaving equipment and he came back to life in front of his astonished parents. Woody is now 14 months old.
